Odom New Majority Leader Tennessee has a new majority leader. The story is here.

State House Democrats selected Rep. Gary Odom on Saturday to serve as their new majority leader.

The Nashville lawmaker was elected 33-18 over Rep. Mark Maddox, of Dresden. He replaces Majority Leader Kim McMillan, who did not seek re-election this year and had held the spot since 2002.

Odom, 55, said being selected as majority leader has given him "a new energy" as a lawmaker.
