Tabloid Ann Ann Coulter can dish it out but boy, she cannot take the heat.
Universal Press Syndicate has requested a copy of a report about Ann Coulter's alleged plagiarism, according to a post on the TPMmuckraker.com blog. Meanwhile, in her latest column, Coulter has hit back at the newspaper that aired the latest plagiarism charges -- but did not refute them. The report was conducted by John Barrie, creator of the iThenticate plagiarism-probing system. A New York Post story this Sunday said Barrie found several examples of alleged plagiarism in Coulter's new "Godless" book as well as in her Universal column. Universal Director of Communications Kathie Kerr, when contacted by E&P, said she called Barrie on Wednesday morning and left him a message asking him for a copy of his report. "Once we see a copy of the report, we'll be happy to comment on the findings," she added. "We take allegations of plagiarism very seriously." E&P has also left a message for Barrie, who appeared on MSNBC late Wesnesday.
But here is your money shot of the day, when Ann Calls The New York Post a ... dare I say it ...tabloid. Which, as E&P points out quite astutely, it is.
Coulter wrote: "Once considered a legitimate daily, the Post has been reduced to tabloid status best known for Page Six's breathless accounts of Paris Hilton's latest ruttings, and headlines like 'Vampire Teen -- H.S. Girl Is Out for Blood.' How crappy a newspaper is the Post? Let me put it this way: It's New York's second-crappiest paper." Of course, the Post could hardly be "reduced to tabloid status" since it is, in fact, a tabloid.
Of course, it's the second crappiest paper, because the evil in her conservative brain which is the size of a pea, thinks the Times is worse than that for reporting "real" news. Don't get me wrong, I'm still mad at the Times over Judith "Germs" Miller. Ann, Ann, Ann. Don't you get it? You are not that important. And your value is being minimized every day because you may have stolen other people's work, such as Planned Parenthood, an organization that you have already marked for hell.
Barrie, CEO of iParadigms, told The Post that one 25-word passage from the "Godless" chapter titled "The Holiest Sacrament: Abortion" appears to have been lifted nearly word for word from Planned Parenthood literature published at least 18 months before Coulter's 281-page book was released.
Godless. The book should have been called Talentless
Comments:
I’m shocked to see that even the editor of Human
Events does not see anything wrong with “commentary”
that does not give credit to original sources. “Does
anyone think that Ann Coulter’s really trying to
plagiarize Planned Parenthood?” asks
Terence P. Jeffrey, editor of Human Events, on CNN.
Well, no, whether or not she “tried to” is immaterial
- SHE in fact DID! There’s the nuance that doesn’t
seem to pass the broken wires of his courageous
defense of Coulter.

Nice! Especially coming from an editor who has allowed
prevaricating pundits like Coulter, Tabor, Malkin,
Platt Liebau and Buchanan to perpetually peñata Jayson
Blair.

Talk about postmodern moral equivalency. Tell Ann to
pull that crap on her paper in a college course, Mr.
Jeffrey, and they’ll have her expelled from the
university for academic dishonesty faster than she can
say “traitor". Any self-respecting journal editor
would take this matter VERY seriously.

Human Events columnists shouldn’t be held to the same
standards? Don’t worry, I won’t hold Ann to the same
standards either. Like I ever did…
