Japan's Kyodo News agency reported that the missile landed six minutes after launch, but did not say where. The chief of Russia's general staff said that Russian tracking systems showed that Pyongyang may have launched up to 10 missiles during the day, the Interfax news agency reported.Frank over at Left of The Dial asks a really good question I've been pondering as well.
Here's my question: do we really know for sure that the long-range Taepodong-2 missile launched Tuesday was really a dud? In other words, could it have been an "intentional dud" to lure the world into thinking it doesn't work? With a seventh missile launched during the night, my question is what are the North Koreans trying to prove. The world is acting outraged, according to mainstream media. But the missiles will get us talking about this. I'm a child of the Cold War. This entire thing dredges up old fears of when I was lying in bed as a kid worrying. And can we defend any missiles headed for our country?
