Ethopian Troops Move Into Somalia Town And there is much more in the world going on than you may have considered:
AP) Hundreds more Ethiopian troops moved into a second Somali town on Saturday to protect the country's weak, U.N.-backed government, and talks aimed at easing tensions here fell apart when Islamist militia delegates walked out and the government did not send representatives. About 200 Ethiopian troops with at least five pickup trucks mounted with machine guns and other vehicles moved into Wajid, a U.N. aid base, about 46 miles southeast of the Somali-Ethiopian border, at about 3 a.m. (0000GMT), several witnesses said on condition of anonymity because they feared reprisals. The soldiers took control of the town's airport from a militia serving the local administration, they said. Arab League talks in Sudan, scheduled to resume Saturday, were aimed at easing the situation in Somalia, where the Islamist militia captured the capital, Mogadishu, from secular warlords and then consolidated their control over most of southern Somalia.
A cease-fire was signed on June 22. So why aren't we talking about this as well?
Simple. Somalia has very little strategic or financial concern for the US. Basically, it's a bunch of Muslim extremists killing people wholesale because, well, that's what they do. The only difference here is they actually have an army and are doing it the old fashioned way i.e. driving in, shoot as many as possible, capture the rest, SHOOT THEM, sack the place, and leave.

Ethiopia doesn't want them doing the same to them, so they're sending troops.

Honestly, it's probably better the African Union handle this situation because, well, let's face it. They can go in and kill the "bad guys" down to the flies on their cars, and they don't face the American media nor the world's condemnation. And if they DO, feh, who cares? Those countries don't have much to lose.

It's the same reason Israel has had so much success over the decades. They don't govern by worldwide opinion polls.
Your site is on top of my favourites - Great work I like it.
