Rhetoric Or Real? I have heard this stuff before. GOP IN DISARRAY!!! (as the Huffington Post headline reads)

President Bush warned defiant Republican senators yesterday that he will close down a CIA interrogation program that he credited with thwarting terrorist attacks if they pass a proposal regulating detention of enemy combatants, escalating a politically charged battle that has exposed divisions within his party

I guess my question du jour is, what do you guys think about this? I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I don't know if this is really happening, if certain republicans (including Powell) are distancing or if we are going to get a message that "Yeah, we are fighting for you're (the confused voter's) benefit but in the end we are going to do what Bush wants anyway."  ¶ 9/16/2006 08:51:00 AM
