Still No Results
At four o'clock yesterday, I still did not have any paperwork on results from the election commission.
Not official. Not unofficial. Nothing, Nada, However, I did have calls on my desk from angry voters wanting to know the results. We had an unofficial tally but no hard concrete numbers.
I realize that there were burps in the software across the state regarding Thursday's election, but I have a feeling our Election Commission has some 'splainin to do.
We may live in Hooterville but it's a lifestyle choice, you know. We don't want to be reminded we live in Hooterville.
This is so not of the good.

That is disturbing.
Our local excuse for media in the county offered some truly bizarre accounts of why it was 2 am before results were provided - seems the first results were "wrong" so they had to be corrected. The overall results show that elected officials who had been demanding some answers i the last four years regarding mismanagement have all been booted.
Even if no vote tampering occured, that means many devoted party members wanted to eliminate dissent and handily won the day.
Burps, farts, large wind - whatever we decide to call a near statewide failure of electronic voting is pathetic. Lack of participating voters is pathetic.
If this ol' country gets any more pathetic, we is indeed inventing our demise.
